As I’m always up for a free activity to keep Tinki busy I signed us up for a free small animal workshop at Pets at Home. I must admit I was a little apprehensive that it might be a small person free for all and that the animals might not enjoy the sessions but I was pleasantly surprised, the lady running the session was great at teaching the children the right way to hold each animal and not afraid to offer guidance if they got over enthusiastic!

RatNot only did we get to hold and stroke four animals, rabbit, Guinea pig, rat (!) and degu we also learnt lots of interesting facts about how to care for them, what they eat etc.

It was a lovely small group of mixed ages all of whom were totally enthralled, as I must admit were the mummies, I think everyone debated bring home the bunny at some stage.

GineaPigTinki enjoyed the session so much he’s keen to go back for the reptile workshop.

Sessions are held in the store in Bletchley on a Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday or in the Rooksley store on a Thursday. Booking isn’t essential but can be done through their website petsathome.com.
