When you become a Mum there are some experiences that you know will stick with you. Watching Tinki watching Peppa Pig on his first ever trip to the theatre will probably be one of them.

MK Theatre this week played host to the famous puddle loving piggy and Tinki was completely enraptured by the whole experience. He joined in the singing, clapping and dancing and was swept up in the whole magic of the theatre; exactly as it should be. As he sat on my knee watching the show it felt like a very special treat.

The show’s creators pitched the show just right, as well as story, dance and song there was water, bubbles and games. Plenty to keep the young and the young at heart engaged throughout the hour long performance.

Tinki was especially impressed with the full cast of characters. He’d taken his own little Peppa and George along to show ‘the real Peppa’ and at one point I spotted him proudly hoisting them in the air. And he delighted in telling daddy ‘Pedro Pony was there you know’.

The show was defiantly for Peppa Pig fans with little nods to the TV show, although I do think Peppa was slightly less bossy, but the colourful costume and lighting made it suitable for all little ones.

A personal highlight of the show for me was the underwater sequence where the brightly coloured, glow in the dark fish added a wonderful sensory experience to the show.

If your unsure whether to take the plunge to visit the theatre; concerned about the stress of wiggling tots don’t be. This type of show is an ideal starter, all the audience are in the same boat and are very relaxed and happy to help out any struggling mummies. We’ve got the bug and already considering attending Ben & Holly Live when it hits the MK Theatre next year.
